Love Russia: Alex Cooke

Alex Cooke CEO & International Director

Alex is mad about motorbikes, been involved with motor racing and is married to Jacqui.
As International Director, Alex regularly visits Russia to ensure donations are spent correctly and 50/50 agreements with authorities are carried out.  While in the UK, Alex spends much of his time visiting churches, schools, Rotary clubs and other groups to give illustrated talks and presentations about the work of Love Russia. In 2011 he rode his motorbike to Russia to draw attention to the needs of orphaned children.

Love Russia: Jacqui Cooke

Jacqui Cooke Deputy Executive Officer

Jacqui has experience in publishing and has lived and worked in South Africa. With one of Jacqui and Alex’s own sons having had learning difficulties, they feel a special affinity with Russian children who have been marginalised by society. Jacqui accompanies Alex on a number of trips as well as the annual visit to LR partners in the USA. Jacqui is always pleased to attend speaking engagements.

Debbie Bradley

Debbie Bradley Development Officer

Having worked as both teacher and trainer at all stages between primary through to university level, Debbie has extensive experience and knowledge of the education sector.  Debbie is passionate about bringing the needs of the children Love Russia works with into British schools as our Development officer. She would be delighted to visit for assemblies or as part some class time.

Love Russia: Ethne Whitlock

Ethne Whitlock UK Office Co-ordinator

Lay preacher Ethne, with a background in computer programming, efficiently oversees the office and is in charge of its day to day running. She is also responsible for all Summer Camp administration.

Love Russia: Helen Staniford

Helen Staniford Desktop Publishing & Web design

Helen is responsible for the design of all LR printed publicity. Newsletters and prayer diaries are produced monthly as well as more specific leaflets and campaign materials. She also looks after the design and updating of the LR website.

Lynn

Lynn Davies Administration

Lynn has a nursing background and is therefore meticulous about doing things properly! She deals with donations that come into the office, arranges engagements for the speaking team and is also an avid promoter!

David Overton Chairman of Trustees

David has worked in many countries all over the world and explored different languages and cultures. He has visited Russia with Alex and is now struggling to learn some Russian!  David says:  “I like the way Love Russia does business – practical, targeted, consistent help where it is truly needed”

Love Russia: Harry Walker

Harry Walker Deputy Chairman

Harry is a recently retired Assistant Headteacher from church School on the Isle of Wight. He has visited Russia many times and enjoys being part of the summer camps.  He also joins his wife Nicola, a part time teacher, as a volunteer helper in the LR office.

Love Russia: John Reddecliffe

John Reddecliff Trustee

John has nearly 20 years experience encouraging people into self employment.  Having lectured at the Local College for a number of years, he ran the Isle of Wight Enterprise Agency from 1997 to 2007.  He is a training consultant and Business Adviser assisting businesses to grow to their full potential.

With 40 years experience in business managment, Ursula's skills are an invaluable asset to the running of Love Russia. Ursula has seen first hand the projects Love Russia is involved with and has real compassion for the children and people we work with.

Andrew Maorgan

Andrew Morgan Trustee

Andrew is a Partner of a firm of solicitors with offices in Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight. Andrew is married to Hilary and they have 3 young children.
Andrew says of Love Russia “Love Russia is focused on meeting head on the bleakness of nagging despair faced by those that have nothing, to transform discord into hope so as to ensure that the disadvantaged of today have a future tomorrow.

Caroline Riches

Caroline Riches Trustee

Caroline originally trained as a Social Worker.  After completing a BA Visual Arts Degree she worked as a Community Artist with  'voiceless' and disadvantaged groups. Latterly she completed an MA in Art Psychotherapy. After working within the NHS in London and IW, she currently works as an art psychotherapist privately and sessionally on the IOW. Caroline has joined LR as a trustee following a monitoring trip and seeing the needs first hand.

Simon Young

Simon Young Education Consultant

Simon and his wife Sue visit Russia twice every year on mission. They spend 4 to 6 weeks working with a wide variety of insitutions sharing their skills. As an education consultant of environmental studies, Simon spends time with children raising their awarness of environmental issues such as pollution and his work is recognised by Mendeleev University in Moscow.

 

 

Sue Young

Sue Young Special Needs consultant

During the twice yearly visits, Sue is able to spend time working alongside children helping those with special needs to develop themselves and provide help to the staff when needed. She also works with the elderly in two institutions in Yelatma.

Ann Dunsire

Married to Andrew, Ann felt led to be part of Love Russia after seeing a Love Russia stand over 10 years ago at an exhibition. She has been actively involved with the work since. Ann has also been a summer camp volunteer for many years with her husband Andrew. She gives illustrated talks in Scotland.

Andrew Dunsire Area Rep

Andrew become involved with Love Russia many years ago. He is a full time Graphic designer and has assisted with a number of publicity projects over the years as well as a being a very active fund raiser with his wife in Scotland. He is also a summer camp volunteer.

Ann Hall

Anne Hall Area Rep

Married to Simon, Anne has also been involved with summer camps since the very beginning. Having been unable to attend for the last couple of years herself, Anne helps to prepare the other volunteers during our spring training session each year.

One of the origninal members of the first team out on summer camp back in 2003, Simon is still as keen today having attended every year since then.

Lena Zvyagintseva

Lena lives in Russia and is co-ordinator for the Genesis project that supports around 90 students from disadvantaged backgrounds each year.

Luba is commited to helping young people in detention centres. She visits them regularly showing them generosity, kindness and a hope for their future. She also works with Sue Young and others as interpreter with special needs institutions.
