LOVE RUSSIA CHARITY

Like everyone, we are heartbroken by the current situation. As a charity that strives to help Russians in extreme poverty, abused women and children and others recovering from trauma and addictions, how do we feel personally about what is going on? We are a small group of Christians who operate this work, and as believers of God’s Word, unrest in the world comes as no surprise. The Bible says clearly that trouble and opposition to peace will come, that ‘nation will rise again

28 years ago, we were walking beside children living in orphanages. They'd been abandoned, rejected and these overcrowded institutions were bleak with inadequate access to emotional or physical care. Despite the passing of over 20 years, many of those we supported as children still need our help today. Valya was at an orphanage when we first met her during summer camps. Now, she and her daughter are helped through our support groups and by mentors. She needs lots of guidance

Lent begins 2nd March and this year's Lent Appeal is in aid of getting our three amazing Volkhov projects set up with a minibus. The Women's Crisis Centre, the Men's Crisis Centre and the Open Hearts Youth Group. With so many needs to meet, more suitable transport would make a huge difference. As well as school runs, hospital visits and shopping for large numbers of people, they need a minibus to cope with all their youth, and hiring transport in the past has been expensive.

With last year having been turned upside-down, it's great that we can announce four dates coming up in the next six months where we can say hello in person! 1.
