Introducing our Christmas Prescription Appeal

Happy Christmas one and all! It's time to introduce to you our Christmas Prescription Appeal for 2024!

What's it about? Well, we all help people when they're poorly - it's natural - and sometimes, it means going to a chemist to collect and pay for a prescription on their behalf. This, in essence, is our Christmas Appeal.

We are asking you to consider covering the cost of one prescription to help people in poverty facing medical difficulty.

Among those helped last year were...

  • 12-year-old Katya. She has congenital problems and needed £3,100 to start treatment.

  • 3-year-old Lukyan. It was going to cost £956 to have his tumour removed.

  • Premature baby Dima. His monthly intensive care fee cost £1,300.

THERE WILL ALWAYS BE MORE... We continually receive requests for help with medical needs.

The most recent is Anton. Homeless, sleeping in stairwells, relying on scraps from strangers. Life fell apart when his mother needed money for surgery and couldn't repay it, then his long-term partner changed the locks. He was found in a bad way with his leg broken and infected, protected only by a carrier bag.

Anton has no way of paying for healthcare and this is why we need your help. Anton now lives at the Men's Crisis Centre.

One UK prescription costs £9.65. Our goal is to raise £10,000 so that together we can meet healthcare needs in 2024 helping people like Anton.
