MORE THAN FOOD CHRISTMAS APPEAL

DONE!  Thank you for supporting the Soup Kitchen that provides hot food and human connection for the homeless, the elderly and children in poverty.

Thanks to our wonderful Match-Funders, the first £5000 worth of donations were DOUBLED and we exceeded our £10,000 target!

If you wish to continue supporting our Soup Kitchen, please head to the Soup Kitchen Project page.

SO MUCH MORE THAN FOOD

The Christmas Appeal was in support of our Soup Kitchen.

Whether it's snowing or shining, our Soup Kitchen project visits the homeless, as well as the young and old who are barely surviving in rundown and isolated communities. They bless them with...

  • Hot soup, bread, pastries and sandwiches.

  • Second-hand clothes and shoes.

  • Haircuts and help with hygiene.

  • Signposting toward further help which includes shelter for the homeless.

  • The Good News of Jesus and worship music.

AND - this Christmas, we hoped to gift each person their own Bible!

REAL LIVES TRANSFORMED

Homeless and living on a rubbish dump - Anotoly worked sorting the rubbish in exchange for cigarettes, alcohol and a makeshift shelter.

One day while sorting, he discovered a box, hoping that the shoes inside would be wearable. They weren't, but there was a card with a phone number offering help to people like him.

These cards are handed out at the Soup Kitchen and one had made its way into Anotoly's hands.

He called the number and today he is no longer homeless, he has companionship, a bed, access to food, hygiene and all the support he needs to get his life back on track.

“On the outskirts of the city there are so many poor people - and now, there are many elderly people who come to our Soup Kitchen. Food prices are rising and it now costs three times what it was. It's crippling people.”
