Families who stay at the Women's Crisis Centre have lived their lives in poverty. A holiday was never something perceived as possible amidst the chaos of addiction and domestic violence.
Every Summer, the WCC and Open Hearts Youth Group are blessed with a week at a woodland site. Here, parents who might have struggled to play with their children are encouraged through painting, crafts, games and music, bringing them closer together.
Prayer and Bible study is routine at the WCC. At camp it's even more special as they worship as families surrounded by nature and it's here that many of the residents decide to commit to the Lord and consider baptism for the first time.
Bible Camp comes at extra cost to these projects; coach hire, site hire, craft, activities and food. It costs £50 per person to get them all to Bible Camp. Perhaps consider giving a Bible Camp gift as an Alternative Gift this Christmas!
