Emotional Chaos, to Calm
In January, 26-year-old Madelina and her two children were welcomed at the Women’s Crisis Centre. Determined to break free from addiction, but with no family support, coming here was her only hope of keeping her family together.
Madelina’s struggles began early. She was just four years old, when her mother was killed, and her father turned to alcohol. She was placed in an orphanage, feeling abandoned and alone. Later, her grandmother gained custody, and for a while, she thrived—until her grandmother passed away, forcing her back to her father, a man she no longer knew.
"One day, when I was late home, Dad packed my belongings and told me to leave. I was 14 years old at the time.”
Homeless, she relied on friends and shelters. Eventually, she met a man and had a son, but he was an addict, and soon, she was too. When the relationship broke down, she found herself in a painful cycle that led to the birth of another child.
Now, at the Crisis Centre, Madelina has a chance to heal. More than just a shelter, the Centre helps women rebuild confidence, discover their worth, and break free from whatever strongholds are keeping them back.
We support the Crisis Centre with their running costs every month. It would be amazing if you’d like to be part of that support on a regular basis. You can set this up easily by clicking the link below, or call us (01159831100) and we can assist you.
