Miracle needed for Natalja’s medical bills
This is Natalja... she is one of the newer mums on our support program. Her life has been full of challenges from the off-set. Growing up with alcoholic parents, she had to take care of her siblings at a young age and eventually, they were all placed in an orphanage. She had difficulty fitting in with the other children, but Natalja persevered and completed her schooling.
As she began working as a cook, her health began to deteriorate. She was experiencing immense pain in her knees and back. Many doctors and many years later Natalja was diagnosed with several incurable conditions that had caused her joints to become swollen, stiff and painful – conditions that are likely to get worse. Finding treatment to manage this was long and difficult and the prescribed drugs did not help. During a period of remission in 2017, she and her husband, whom she met in the orphanage, had a child. A doctor predicted that 'her health would improve after childbirth' – it did not, and she declined further.
Natalja's daughter Olenka is now one and a half, and this family is facing immense financial problems as her husband's salary is not enough to cover their day-to-day expenses, let alone the additional costs of her medication. She is in dire need of assistance to continue to provide for her family and receive the medical treatment she needs.
Natalja is a strong and determined young woman who has overcome many obstacles in her life. Despite her current struggles, she remains hopeful for a miracle and for the right medication to help her be healthy and provide for her family.
