Trustees (voluntary)
Love Russia was established 25 years ago by Christian missionary Noel Doubleday. Today his legacy lives on as we give support to some of the most vulnerable children, orphanage leavers and young single mums in the western area of Russia.
Love Russia’s trustees are custodians of this legacy and play a vital role in ensuring we continue the work. We are looking for individuals who have a Christian faith that translates into a passion for our mission, for Trustees who can make a significant contribution by being able to share and implement their knowledge, expertise and experience. We are particularly keen to hear from people with experience in the following areas:
-
Social Care, specifically for children, youth or recovering addicts
-
Legal Practice
-
Marketing
-
Experience of being a carer or volunteering
Successful applicants must be able to attend a minimum of 4 Board Meetings and one financial planning meeting per year. They will also:
-
Contribute specific skills, knowledge and experience to further the charitable objects of Love Russia and in the benefits of public interest.
-
Ensure Love Russia acts in accordance with its governing documents and relevant legislation, safeguarding the good name and values of Love Russia.
-
Give guidance on managing the resources of Love Russia effectively.
-
Act in the best interests of Love Russia.
-
Establish, develop and promote Love Russia’s vision, principles, strategic aims and objectives.
-
Ensure that policies, operations and priorities are in keeping with the aims of Love Russia.
-
Monitor and review Love Russia’s performance against the strategic aims and ensure that all activities fall within the Charity’s stated objects and that it is carrying out its purposes for the public benefit.
