Hello Phil!

As I, Anna, step away as CEO to go on maternity leave, I want to thank you for your incredible support over the past four years. We've been through so much; the pandemic, an unexpected war, Lloyds closing our bank account, and deep need. Despite this, you’ve helped us bring hope to so many. I will stay in touch and I'm already looking forward to returning in late next year.

I hope you will all welcome Phil, who joined us as Interim CEO on 1^st September. With years of experience leading in the charity sector and a heart for justice and compassion, we know he will bring strength and wisdom to the role. When asked what inspired him to apply, he shared this verse:

“Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor…” (Zechariah 7:9–10)

Having served in the Arab world, Phil felt God calling him to something new where he could live out this verse. He's going to be a wonderful addition to the faithful and hardworking Love Russia UK team: Helen, Manny and Angie.

In our work, in the recent month alone, there are many reasons to be thankful that include baby Abrim who has had his heart surgery—thank you for your prayers and generosity. His mum Evia is overwhelmed with gratitude, and your gifts also helped repair bathrooms at our crisis centres—an essential job that's now complete!

Please continue to stand with us in compassion and prayer. Your support brings real change—to lives and hearts.
