Evia’s journey has been one of heart-breaking struggles—and now, a race against time to save her baby boy.

Evia’s Journey: From Brokenness to Hope
Evia’s childhood was scarred by neglect and addiction, a cycle she repeated until hitting rock bottom. After losing her first son to adoption and fleeing an abusive marriage, she found refuge at our Women’s Crisis Centre with her newborn, Abrim. Today, she’s sober, rebuilding her life, and clinging to faith. At the centre, Evia (right) has had the help she needs, the relationship with her mum (left), who came to the Centre before her, is mending, and together they participate in Bible study. Finally, after so much trauma, three generations of the same family are healing.

A New Crisis: Abrim's life hangs in the balance
Shortly after their arrival, it became clear that Abrim was very sick. Prolonged fatigue and shortness of breath alerted everyone to his poor health.
“Our new baby Abrim has hyperplasia of the left heart, with hyperplasia of the left ventricle. He needs an urgent operation. Please pray.”
This condition is fatal. Without surgery, his life expectancy will be less than five years.
Any chance of arranging surgery for Abrim hinged on this family proving they had a permanent address. In these situations our crisis centre becomes a life-line.
“Thank God for this house. Social services are happy that Evia and Abrim have somewhere safe to live which means he won’t be taken from her.”
The cost of surgery is also going to be an issue. £6,000 is an impossible amount for Evia to find.
You can be their Miracle
We want Evia (and all the mums at the centre) to experience Jesus' peace and blessing in a tangible way.
We hope and pray that his surgery can take place before September this year when his condition is likely to become critical. Please help us surround them with love by supporting them at this time. You can help by donating towards the cost of baby Abrim's life-saving surgery and praying for them as a family.
