The Projects You Impact

As we approach the end of our financial year, we wanted to share with you a clear picture of all the projects you support through Love Russia. In the last year, the Federovits workshop for disabled young adults, and Slava’s youth ministry became self-sustaining - but, several vital projects continue to depend on all of us to keep going…

Two Support Groups.
The families that rely on this support still very much appreciate your involvement. For mums with very limited incomes, knowing there is regular help, and extra when needed, means they can be the parents their children need without constant fear that poverty will overcome them.

The Women's Crisis Centre (WCC).
This refuge is for women who've escaped violence, others overcoming addiction, the elderly, and several who were homeless with their children. It's home to around 50 people at a time. This long-term project needs your continued support to feed and clothe the women and children and maintain its general running costs such as heating and property upkeep.

The Men's Crisis Centre (MCC).
Like the WCC, the men's centre offers refuge to many who have been identified as homeless through the Soup Kitchen, others who need urgent medical care and several elderly men. The men's centre also relies on us for their running costs. Their building is older and needs more maintenance - extras they cannot afford without our support.

The Soup Kitchen.
This outreach project is so effective at reaching people in the community who need support as well as those needing complete care from the centres. Your support provides volunteers with food, equipment and transport. This project is a growing one - they had 58 visitors in just one session over Christmas!

The Open Hearts Youth Group.
This youth group is a constant in the lives of vulnerable children experiencing severe dysfunction at home. This space allows for counselling and healing that's essential to prevent our youth from making the same dangerous choices as their parents. Your support allows for food parcels, clothing, regular activities and residential trips too.
These six projects rely on your generosity towards food, clothing, maintenance, transport and more. Through them, adults and children who need life-saving surgery and treatments are flagged up too – emergency costs we regularly help to meet. The most wonderful side effect of your giving is that many come to know Jesus as their Saviour.

Legacy Lodge
This project is nearing the end of ‘the build phase’ and will soon become a working project. Interior doors, floors and paint are going up, and secure gates and boundaries are in place. We pray it will open later this year. When it does, it will provide emergency shelter and basic needs for children in crisis, education and support for teenage mums and more. It will be a vital resource for the Volkhov community and a place of safety, opportunity and hope for vulnerable young people.
… and there’s one more project on the horizon – God willing!
In a couple of weeks, we’ll let you all about a potential new project that helps young women and girls trapped in exploitation and trafficking.
Thank you for being part of this work. None of these projects, past, present or future, would be possible without the faithful support of people like you.
